Sand is great for lines because water keeps erasing them. It means we must continually draw a fresh one. Usually we draw these new lines further and further forward. A line in the sand is also, as the aphorism goes, a stand, and only the crazy or courageous dare cross it.
So, drawing fresh lines in the sand takes someone a little crazy and a lot courageous. Hmmm. I really like that.
